2020 Season Update

Marysville Little League Families,

With each new week we get new information. Based on current state guidelines, the "estimation" for any possible startup of LL activities would be mid to late June. Little League International has encouraged leagues to make every attempt to offer league activities during the summer if at all possible, under local social distancing guidelines. The majority of other leagues in our district are forging ahead, optimistically, by working towards offering summer baseball and softball. The most likely scenario would be a mid to late June start, continuing through the end of July, possibly into the beginning of August. We realize once we hit August, there will be more conflicts with other sports. We do plan to have a traditional Fall Ball season. We are exploring options, which may include offering Fall Ball to the younger divisions as well, such as Rookies and T-Ball.

Thank you to all who responded to our survey. The results were insightful and helped the LL Board create a plan for the immediate future of the league. The main take away from the results is that, nearly 70% of our league families would like to play this summer, if we are able to offer it. Therefore, the LL Board believes that we will have a season and continues to plan accordingly, in the event we are able to provide an athletic outlet for boys and girls this summer.

With that said, we do recognize there is approximately 30% of the league that is not able to play this summer. To that end, here is what we see going forward:

  1. If you would like to withdraw from playing this season and receive a refund please alert us and we will be refunding 90% of the player registration fee.
  2. If you would like to continue, in the hopes of playing, there is nothing for you to do for now. Should we not be able to get a summer season going, we will then refund the rest of the league 90% of the player registration fee.

Refunds explained: At the time of stoppage, the league had incurred expenses for all divisions, including but not limited to: league charter fees, insurance, field maintenance, field rentals, equipment, Cedar Field costs, tryout costs, and registration credit card transaction fees. We are merely looking at a reasonable solution to mitigate some of the losses.

We have been contacted by some families in the league indicating their desire to donate their registration fees to the league instead of receiving a refund. Thank you for your generosity! If that is something you are considering, please let us know.

Please send an email to refunds@marysvillell.org indicating if you would like to withdraw and receive a refund, or if you would like to donate your player registration fee. Please respond by May 28th and make sure to include your name, your player's name(s) and division(s) in your email. We will process refunds as soon as possible.

The MLL Board will be meeting again on June 2 with hopes that we have more clarification on timelines for the Governor's phases for reopening, and to assess the number of participants who wish to play this summer.

We greatly appreciate everyone hanging in with us, this is a pretty unprecedented circumstance to navigate. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

    Coaches needed
Little League (Baseball & Softball) Coaches needed for the 2020 Season!!!! Marysville Little League is 100% volunteer-run. Spring baseball and softball are just around the corner and the MLL Board of Directors and other volunteers are hard at work preparing for the season. We need coaches for all levels. At present we only have 7 coaches registered and typically will end up with 40+ teams. Everyone is encouraged to help out! Share this to anyone and everyone. You need not be a parent to coach. You need not be an expert at baseball or softball. All you need is a willingness to help kids, create a fun environment and have fun yourself. It takes a village... If you are interested in learning more about the time commitments and responsibilities please email coaching@marysvillell.org. Design created with PosterMyWall
