Marysville Little League - Communication Policy

The following Communication Policy offers guidelines for communication within Marysville Little League and should be treated with the same level respect as the Code of Conduct. Violations of the Communication Policy may result in disciplinary action.

As a member of Marysville Little League, I acknowledge and agree to the following rules and recommendations:

24-Hour Rule

In cases of conflict and/or concern (unrelated to safety issues), whether during or after a practice or game, please wait 24-hours before contacting any member of the Coaching Staff or any League Official. This allows for all parties to take a moment to think clearly and better understand the perspectives of others. Examples include but are not limited to issues with playing time, questions about position assignments, criticism of coaching decisions (constructive or otherwise) and frustration with any situation.

In the event that there is an imminent safety concern, you may contact an appropriate party before 24-hours has passed to ensure the safety and security of all players.

Communication Apps (GameChanger & GroupMe)

Beginning with Fall Ball 2025, all team communications / chat functions will migrate to a separate app called GroupMe. While we will still use GameChanger for schedules, scoring, and communications related to the actual events, any team or personal discussions or information shall be sent via GroupMe. In addition, you may receive communications directly from the League via GroupMe, so it will be an important tool going forward to continue your communication with Marysville Little League.

GameChanger will remain as the primary method of communication for schedules, locations, scoring and stats.

Additional information about this topic will be provided to registered families at a later date.

Contacting Marysville Little League - Email

Effective immediately, all email communication should be sent to [email protected]; administrative volunteers are monitoring this email address and forwarding any questions they are unable to answer themselves to the appropriate party within the League. This includes general questions (such as registration, information, and account concerns) as well as specific questions, complaints, or issues that arise. This email account is monitored regularly; however, response times will follow standard business days/hours and non-emergent concerns will be addressed as soon as reasonable.

All email communication should be professional in nature. Please use descriptive subject lines and include identifying information (your name, player name, coach / team data, etc) in the body of the email.

Contacting Marysville Little League - Phone

Marysville Little League does NOT have a business phone number; if you have attempted to reach us by phone using a number found online / through Google search, it is likely that you are calling the personal line of a former volunteer. All contacts should begin via email.

Please limit the use of phone calls and text messages to personal cell phones of volunteers by contacting them through other approved methods unless they initiate the conversation.

At no point should anyone use a personal cell phone number to attack, berate, or otherwise negatively address another member of the League for any reason.

Respect for Volunteer Staff

All League Staff Members - such as Coaches, Concession Workers and League Officials - are volunteers who are giving their time, effort and energy for the betterment of the League and community at large.  When addressing any person within the League, whether verbally or in writing/via email, please lead those interactions with kindness. Treat others with the same level of respect you would expect to be treated with. If you are unhappy with an interaction, take a moment (or two) to remember that we are all here for the common goal of offering an excellent youth sports experience to our players.

Please do not address or approach Board Members during their player(s) games with the specific intent of discussing League business, asking questions or raising concerns. Allowing everyone to enjoy the opportunity to watch their players without being 'on the clock' is important and vital to continued volunteerism.
