2026 VOLUNTEER POLICY - SPRING SEASON
Marysville Little League is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Our ability to provide a safe, positive, and well-organized baseball and softball program depends on the active participation of ALL of our Little League families throughout each season. In addition, we must properly staff and operate our concessions at Cedar Field regularly to ensure we are able to continue to use that facility as our flagship field location.
Beginning in Spring Season 2026, there is a requirement of 4+ documented volunteer hours* per player enrolled in the League. Volunteers can be parents, extended family, or friends! To qualify, the volunteer must be:
- Registered through SportsConnect;
- 16+ years old;
- Complete any required training (Abuse Awareness, Safety, CPR, and/or other training as needed); and
- Pass a background check (exception for Field Maintenance as shown below)
2026 Spring Season Available Roles:
- Concessions Volunteers will be asked to attend a brief training session in March 2026 to learn open/close procedures, cleaning, and snack preparation. Reimbursements are available for Food Handler's Permit.
- Volunteer Umpires will be asked to attend a FREE comprehensive training held March 21st at Cedar Field by District 1 Umpire-in-Chief, Jason Becker (2025 LLWS Umpire)
- Event Volunteers may chose from a variety of events, such as Opening Day, Jamboree, Photography Assistant, Strawberry Festival Parade, and more! No training required.
- Field Maintenance Volunteers will not be required to submit for a background check, but must be registered in SportsConnect. Attendance at one of our field clean up dates will be necessary (likely in January & February, weather dependent.)
Additional roles may be posted as we approach the coming season; registered volunteers will be notified via email of new opportunities.
*Those who do not meet this 4+ hour requirement by the end of the season will be assessed a fee of $50 per player to be paid prior to registration for any future season. Volunteer hours will be documented through the use of our volunteer management app, POINT. Additional details regarding this system will be released in early 2026 to all registered volunteers.
