Marysville Little League desires to keep most players in the Division they are eligible to be registered for based on their League Age. In very limited cases, the League will consider requests to play up a Division.
Here are some Division Guidelines to consider before you make your request to the League:
- Rookies: Players who are League Age 6, have played one (or more) seasons of tee-ball, AND have the recommendation of the League may be considered to play Rookies. Ideally, players who are age 6 will be in First Grade.
- 89ers/AA Minors: Players who are League Age 7, have played one (or more) seasons of Rookies, AND have the recommendation of the League may be considered to play 89ers/AA Minors. Ideally, players who are age 7 will be in Second Grade. In order to be considered, players must attend Player Evaluations and be drafted onto an 89ers/AA Minors team. This is to ensure a safe playing environment for all players in this division.
- AAA Minors: Players who are League Age 9, have played one (or more) seasons of Rookies/89ers, AND have the recommendation of the League may be considered to play AAA Minors. In order to be considered, players must attend Player Evaluations and be drafted onto an AAA Minors team. This is to ensure a safe playing environment for all players in this division.
- AAA Minors - League Age 8: Beginning in Spring 2025, players who are League Age 8 will not be considered for AAA Minors unless the player shows significant skill and experience during Player Evaluations and/or there are extenuating circumstances such as sibling choice during the draft. In addition to these considerations, we ask that you take into account a player's emotional maturity and their ability to follow instruction from coaches and team staff. It is crucial that we roster players at a level where their understanding of the game, their skill set, and their age meets cohesively. This benefits everyone - the individual, the team and the coaching staff.
- Register your player in the highest Division available in your account; AND
- Select the option for "Player Review Request - PLAY UP" in your registration; AND
- Fill out the Player Review Request Form and include all pertinent details; AND
- Register for and attend Player Evaluations (Mandatory for Upper Divisions)
How does a player receive a recommendation from the League?
Once a Player Review Request has been submitted, the League will review the application. In order to receive a League Recommendation, the player must have one of the following:
- Marysville Little League Coach Recommendation (Current and Former Coaches are considered, with weight given to the most recent Coach)
- Marysville Little League Board Member Recommendation (must have witnessed the player during games in previous season)
- Other Coach Recommendation (may submit additional feedback from other organizations, including other Little Leagues / Select organizations and/or private coaches)
Please Note: Coaches and/or Board Members may not endorse their own player(s) as a means of creating equity for all players.
When will I be notified of the outcome of the Player Review Request?
Players who have submitted a Player Review Request (Play Up) for Rookies will be contacted as soon as possible after the close of registration.
Players who have submitted a Player Review Request (Play Up) are required to attend Player Evaluations and are subject to the Draft Roster Selection. They will be listed as possible PLAY UP and all members of the selection committee will be given a list of players who submitted their application and were recommended by the League.
Only applicants who are not approved will be notified directly. Questions about the status of your application can be directed to [email protected]
